The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror drama television series developed by Frank Darabont, based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The series features a large ensemble cast as survivors of a zombie apocalypse trying to stay alive under near-constant threat of attacks from zombies known as "walkers". HOW?

i started watching twd like a few weeks ago as of writing this (23/03/24), i watched the first few episodes a couple months ago and then stopped watching cuz i was busy. but the other week my sister was watching one of the spin offs i think it was the newest one? then i started watching it again with my sister and now its the hyperfixation of the month..

DARYL

shout out to daryl dixon for rewiring my brain chemistry. this guy is the character ever and my all time favourite. daryl is an impulsive and hotheaded redneck, but slowly turns his hotheaded-ness into aggression that aids the group and becomes a valuable asset of his. he is a skilled combatant, knife-wielder and crossbowman, he's also an expert at hunting, tracking, navigation and observation. these skills come in extremely useful over the course of the series and he becomes a valued member of the group. he's the younger brother of merle and the last surviving member of his family. daryl grew up in georgia with his brother and neglectful parents who were abusive, alcoholic chainsmokers, causing him to develop a survivalist mindset from a young age. eventually he lost his mother in a house fire caused by a cigarette, and over the years he and his brother were abused by his father which caused merle to abandon the family and join the military, subsequently leaving daryl to the abuse. after his dad died daryl moved out and reconnected with merle where they adopted a drifter lifestyle, utilizing their survival instincts and learning how to hunt and track. at one point he and merle resided in merle's drug supplier's house, and a fight broke out between merle and his supplier and daryl beat this guys ass. the dealer punched daryl in the gut almost killing him and afterwards the dealer and merle laughed it off. daryl then came to view himself as an unimportant individual who held no value or purpose in life. over the course of the series he finds friendships in rick grimes, carol peletier and beth greene, proving to be very loyal to his friends and his group and doing anything to protect them, eventually finding a family within his friends. daryl is a smoker and theres a scene where he breaks down crying and burns a cigarette on his hand RAHHHHHHH. he also likes motorbikes and has the same bike up until season 4 when the prison gets destroyed, but when the group reaches alexandria he gets given a new bike by aaron and fixes it up.
